Middle School

As preadolescence and adolescence set in, Middle School students find themselves at a unique stage of life that offers many fresh opportunities and challenges. During this developmental stage, Middle School students begin to ask significant questions. Therefore, it is critical that these young people are trained intellectually, physically, spiritually, and socially from a Biblical worldview. Furthermore, they must be challenged to own that worldview and their personal faith in Jesus Christ. These are the primary reasons we have a Middle School at BCA. Beyond that, we strive to offer academic excellence to prepare our students for success in high school, college, and the professional world. As a Christian school, we aim to reflect the excellence of Christ in all that we do. Ultimately, we know that Christ is doing His work through us.

Curriculum

Middle School offers exciting new challenges for students. While considering both the academic and spiritual needs of the students, BCA has selected a strong Christ-centered curriculum that provides excellent preparation in Bible, History, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Spanish.  In addition, technology is integrated and emphasized throughout the curriculum. Our goal is to provide a quality education that develops a well-rounded Christian student. To this end, we have developed numerous enrichment opportunities for BCA Middle School students. Some of them are:

Art Band Chapel
Fine Arts Events Drama Field Trips

Extracurricular Activities

BCA offers a wide range of extracurricular activities to its Middle School students, including the following:

Spiritual Leadership

Truths from the source of all truth, the Bible, are integrated through every facet of our curriculum. In addition to God’s Word acting as the primary resource in all subject areas, students are given opportunities for spiritual growth and leadership. In the fall of each year, all Middle School students embark on a three-day retreat to a rustic Christian camp in North Georgia.

Bonding, teamwork, leadership, and spiritual growth are all emphasized. In addition, during weekly chapels, students lead in worship, prayer, pledges, drama, and testimonies. In the spring, students can travel together on an overseas missions trip where they have the opportunity to apply the skills of leadership and evangelism that they have acquired.

Technology

At BCA, we aim to achieve and stay on the cutting edge of technology integration in education. Currently, the Middle School is equipped with computers in every classroom and a wireless Internet cart containing individual laptop computers for student use. We also utilize Smart Boards in several of our classrooms.

Our curriculum reflects the prominence of technology in this new millennium. Technology is integrated into every subject area rather than being treated as a separate discipline.

BCA Middle School students perform in a major Christmas and spring production each year as a culmination of their studies and experiences in the Fine Arts department.
